Term 3 2025 - Week 9
Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
With just one week left of Term 3, it’s been heartening to see so much learning, growth and positivity across our school.
We have also seen a lot of illness in our school community recently. Please remember, if your child is experiencing a temperature, persistent coughing, or cold/flu symptoms, the best place for them is at home to rest and recover. At school, we continue to remind students to wash their hands regularly, cough or sneeze into their elbow, blow their nose properly and sanitise their hands throughout the day to help keep everyone healthy. Here’s hoping everyone returns to school healthy and well rested after the holidays!
Next week our Stage 3 students will embark on their much-anticipated trip to Sydney. They will have an early start, departing from Sacred Heart at 6:30am on Tuesday, 23rd September! Their itinerary looks amazing, and they are sure to have a wonderful time with Mrs Kitchin and their peers and staff from All Hallow’s, Gulgong.
Looking ahead, Term 4 is shaping up to be a huge term, filled with events and opportunities to look forward to.
This weekend our P&F will be catering for the Campdraft dinner. A massive thank you in advance to our P&F for their incredible commitment and ongoing support of our beautiful school. Recently, students were invited to share how they would like to see P&F funds used. Their responses were heartfelt, honest, humorous and helpful! These were reviewed at our recent P&F meeting, and it’s wonderful that students will soon receive a response from the P&F. This will be shared at an Assembly.
Thank you to our students for an excellent term of learning, positive attitudes and fun experiences. Thank you to our families for your ongoing support - it speaks volumes. Thank you to our dedicated staff for your tireless commitment to our students, families and each other. And thank you to our Sacred Heart Parish for keeping our school community in your prayers.
Wishing everyone a safe, happy and restful holiday break.
School resumes on Monday, 13 October.
Take care and God bless,
Sarah-Jane Canham
Reminder
For the safety and wellbeing of all students, we kindly ask that children do not arrive at school before 8:30am, as teacher supervision begins at this time. Thank you for your understanding and support in helping us keep our students safe.

Recess and Lunch Eating Time
At the beginning of every recess and lunch break, we provide a 10-minute dedicated eating time. During this time, two staff members are on duty to supervise and support the children while they eat. Once the 10 minutes are up, children who have finished may go and play, and those who need a little longer are welcome to continue eating.
We kindly ask that you have a chat with your child/ren about using this time to eat their food so they have the energy they need for a full day of learning and play.

Choir Term 4
Dear Parents,
Term 4 is shaping up to be a busy term with lots of special events planned such as the Whole School Play, Awards Presentation, Masses etc. It would be fantastic if we could have a committed group of students in our school choir to perform and lead the singing at these events.
So far this year we have had a number of students show interest in being involved in a school choir here at Sacred Heart however in order to prepare properly for performances we need to know that students will attend each rehearsal. With this in mind we will be asking for parents to talk with their children about whether they would like to be involved in singing at school events and if so, add their names to the choir sign on sheet that will be sent to all families.
Choir will run at lunch times on Wednesdays from week 1 of term 4.
We are excited to provide this opportunity to Sacred Heart students and we hope you are as well.
Regards,
Michelle Little - Year 1/ 2 teacher
